ÍS means ice in Icelandic.

These photographs bring together a selection of images from a journey made by Aléx Larrodé. Although they were never originally intended to be exhibited, they are presented here today with the intention of creating a brief experience rather than a traditional photography exhibition. The sound of ice and water accompanies these snapshots, and together they propose to place ice not only as matter, but as one of the ways in which water chooses to manifest itself: suspended, luminous, fragile, and eternal at the same time.

The exhibition also seeks to encourage a necessary reflection: the importance of these territories for the balance of the planet. These are landscapes that appear untouched, yet are slowly beginning to fracture. Their degradation — silent and persistent — is not a distant phenomenon, but a warning that will inevitably affect our own ecosystems.
